Dwell II explores communal and temporary living for LMU medical students within a dense hospital block in central Munich. A public passage from Schillerstraße to the inner courtyard shapes the building mass, entrances, and a sequence of protected open spaces.
Staggered maisonette units form interlocking two- and three-person apartments. Shared access platforms on the second and fifth floors become generous collective terraces, encouraging daily interaction while preserving privacy within each home.
A rational façade of acid-washed white precast concrete gives the building a durable civic presence. Inside, simple robust materials bring warmth to the compact rooms and shared spaces.
